Dear Owners,
We have been closely monitoring updates from the National Weather Service (NWS) for this weekend’s winter weather. As of the 2 PM NWS Charleston report, record breaking cold weather will occur this weekend and linger into early next week. We are now under a Winter Storm and Extreme Cold Warning. NWS expects the most likely arrival of snow to be between 1 and 4 PM tomorrow, Saturday, January 31st, and end sometime Sunday morning before 7 AM. One inch is expected, but NWS is asking communities to prepare for as much as two to three inches of accumulation. Since Extreme Cold will continue into Sunday, NWS is expecting disruptions to daily life, including hazardous driving conditions. As a result, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents and visitors to remain at home and avoid unnecessary travel. Therefore, we are announcing changes to this weekend’s community operations schedule. Please carefully review the departmental information below. Our team will be pre-treating the sidewalks and service areas at the amenity centers tomorrow morning so that critical support staff can safely navigate, and we can resume operations as quickly as possible. If travel is unavoidable, slow down, avoid sudden braking, and watch for ice, especially on bridges, shaded areas, and lightly traveled roads. If you are planning to enjoy the winter wonderland, please use extra caution. Thank you for your understanding.
Gatehouse and Patrol – Normal Operations.
Backwater Bill’s – Open for Lunch on Saturday, closing at 3 PM Saturday. No Saturday Dinner. Closed on Sunday. Resuming regular schedule starting Wednesday, February 4th.
Beer Garden – Closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Tackle Box – Closed on Sunday. Resume normal operation on Tuesday.
Fitness Center – Open for Key Card Access only on Sunday. Resume normal operations on Monday.
