Winter Storm Enzo Update #4
1/22/2025
Dear Members,
Overnight, Winter Storm Enzo brought us rain, sleet and 5+ inches of snow. It is a beautiful Lowcountry sight. I hope you and your families are able to safely enjoy this rare Hampton Lake spectacle. The photos pouring in are simply magical. Below are some of our favorites and we’ll publish more in future Updates. You can respond to this message and email pictures to our Membership Director, Catherine Guscio at [email protected] with any vital reports and/or fun family and community photos.
Our Hampton Lake Management Team is in communication and planning for a reopen when the conditions improve. Facilities Maintenance will be checking on key assets today using their offroad Kubota. Fortunately, our manager lives nearby, and wisely brought this vital piece of community machinery home with him. Our Club service teams, many of whom live 30-60 minutes away, will remain at home until authorities give a green light for travel.
Security has been carefully patrolling the community. Based on reports, the roads have a substantial base layer of ice, making them unsafe for travel. We have already witnessed cars drifting off the road, one into a ditch. Local authorities are recommending residents stay home unless it is absolutely necessary.
The National Weather Service (NWS) Charleston continues to report that temperatures will drop into the teens tonight with wind chill values as cold as 10-15 degrees. The high temperature on Thursday could reach the 40s, but then dip back down to below freezing by nightfall. NWS’s 7 AM report indicates that the risk for black ice will be high and could extend into Thursday night/Friday morning.
Past Winter Storm Enzo Updates can be found here. We’ll continue communicating with you via email as more information becomes available.
Enjoy the snow, but please BE CAREFUL. The health and safety of our residents and team members is our highest priority.
Best,
Adam Martin
